| It is with heavy hearts that we announce that one of our fire department family members has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. FADO Tom Rice of Station 10 B shift has recently learned about his illness. Tom is a wonderful person who has always been there for anyone who needs him. Tom is an example to all of us of how we should be dedicated to each other and our department. He is one of the most passionate firefighters to ever work in the county. A firefighter’s firefighter, he is the model we all try to emulate. He has started chemotherapy and plans to aggressively fight this illness.
